Three young researchers from southern Ukraine receive presidential research grants in 2026

Three researchers from Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions have been awarded grants from the President of Ukraine to support the research of young scientists in 2026. The authors of projects aimed at post-war recovery, development of modern technologies and strengthening food security will receive funding.
This is evidenced by the relevant decree published on the President's website, according to NikVesti.
The Presidential Grant was awarded to Anna Burkovska, Doctor of Philosophy in «Economics» and Associate Professor at Mykolaiv National Agrarian University. Her research focuses on how sustainability narratives influence the promotion of Ukrainian agricultural products and how semantic approaches to marketing can enhance the country's food security.
The grant was also awarded to Olena Kovaliova, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Audit at the National University of Odesa Polytechnic Her project focuses on the development of fintech innovations as a tool for Ukraine's economic recovery after the war.
Among the winners is Anna Sapronova, Doctor of Philosophy in «Materials Science» and Senior Researcher at Kherson State Maritime Academy. The researcher will work on creating polymer protective coatings for the restoration of industrial facilities and engineering structures.
Earlier it was reported that 114 entrepreneurs in Mykolaiv region received almost 27 million hryvnias from the state under the grant programme to start or develop their business.
