DHCS promise to complete repairs on Industrialna Street in Mykolaiv by the end of the year — work has been ongoing since 2020

Mykolaiv will complete repairs to the road on Industrialna Street by the end of the year. The Department of Housing and Communal Services says this will help relieve traffic from the Namyv neighbourhood.

This was stated by Artem Sapozhnyk, deputy director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, according to NikVesti.

«I think everyone can see that a large-scale repair of the road on Industrialna Street is underway, which I am sure we will complete by the end of this year. In my opinion, this is a pretty big story, as it will relieve the avenue and allow people, especially from the Namyv neighbourhood, to move to the city centre via Industrialna Street. And given that for a very long time there was no normal road there at all, I think this is a significant step towards restoring normal conditions for people's movement and the city's life in general,» he said during the briefing.

As you know, in August 2020, a contractor started repairing the asphalt pavement of the long-suffering Industrialna Street in Mykolaiv. In particular, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv City Council awarded the Odesa-based company «Lider» a consecutive 5.3 million hryvnias for the repair of Industrialna Street. For this amount, the contractor was to repair 9,591 metres of Industrialna Street from Kabotazhnyi Uzviz Street to Krylova Street. The repair plan included the dismantling of the old asphalt concrete pavement, laying of a new one, and repair of water supply and sewerage wells.

A month later, the asphalt surface on part of Industrialna Street was repaired. This was announced by Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, who drove along the repaired street and showed how it looked. The rest of the street was to be repaired in 2021.
