«Mykolaiv Parks» to spend another ₴700 thousand on lighting a sports ground in Ingul district

The municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» plans to spend 732,000 hryvnias on outdoor lighting for a new sports ground in the city's Inhulskyi district.

The relevant tender is posted on the Prozorro portal, according to NikVesti.

Earlier, the company announced a tender for the purchase of fitness equipment for 995,000 hryvnias to be installed at the sports ground in the Inhulskyi district — in the part of the park on Skulptora Izmalkova, Hennadii Matuliak and 9 Pozdovzhnia streets.

A total of 13 machines for bench and sit-ups, squats, a tennis table, horizontal bars, a workout complex, inclusive exercise equipment, and a bicycle parking for three places are to be installed there. These works are to be completed by 10 December 2025.

At the same time, «Mykolaiv Parks» plans to spend another 732 thousand hryvnias on outdoor lighting for the sports ground. These funds will be used to purchase 24 outdoor lighting fixtures. The contractor will have to deliver them by 15 November 2025.

Earlier, in a comment to NikVesti, the head of the utility company, Dmytro Chuchmai, noted that the project would be similar to the playground on Naberezhna, but more inclusive equipment would be installed in the Inhulskyi district.

«These are simulators. But they will be more inclusive for people with disabilities. Work is currently underway there. We are building a playground like the one on Fleet Boulevard. We want to have such playgrounds in every district of the city. Next year, perhaps, we will do it in Zavodskyi or Korabelnyi districts,» said Dmytro Chuchmai.

The sports ground in the park on Flotskyi Boulevard near the Chess Club in Mykolaiv was opened almost a year ago.

The project was implemented by the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks», and, according to the estimate, it was to cost the city budget 6.8 million hryvnias. According to Dmytro Chuchmai, director of the utility, the use of the company's own resources saved 2.3 million hryvnias. The municipal utility reported that the total amount spent on the sports ground was UAH 4 million 620 thousand 720.2. The remaining funds, namely 2 million 208 thousand 916.8 hryvnias, will not be spent.

In 2023, two trees were demolished on Fleet Boulevard. At the same time, the environmental inspection reported a violation. Later, the police opened criminal proceedings against the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» for unauthorised construction on Fleet Boulevard. All equipment was seized and evacuated to the impound lot.

Subsequently, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the South-Western Region reported that the amount of environmental damage caused by the construction work on Flotskyi Boulevard was over 2 million hryvnias. Inna Kryvko, head of the State Environmental Supervision Department of the Nature Reserve Fund, said that the case has not yet been closed, and that a pre-trial investigation into the damage caused by the work is currently underway.

In turn, the head of the utility company, Dmytro Chuchmai, said that construction work on Fleet Boulevard did not require a project. He also explained that they were started «so that our soldiers could undergo free rehabilitation there».
