Budanov on security: Ukraine will still have to live in a state of readiness to fight back. Photo: Novyny.LIVEThe head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has said that Ukraine should not expect a completely peaceful and secure life in the coming years.
He said this in an interview with Nataliia Moseichuk.
According to Kyrylo Budanov, it is not about the fact that the fighting will continue constantly, but about the need to be prepared for any challenges.
«Absolutely peaceful, threat-free life in the coming years... is unlikely to happen. I do not mean that we will be at war all the time. But we have to be ready to fight back, including armed resistance at any time — this will be a challenge and an opportunity for our society. And we will have to live with it,» the DIU chief said.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , he called for a peace agreement and «to stop where there is». «I told him, as I told President Putin, that it's time to stop the killing and make a deal», Trump said.
During the briefing, Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed with his words, noting that «we have to stop where we are now, and Donald Trump is right — it is important to stop it and then start a conversation».
