In Mykolaiv, paid parking spaces, which started operating on 11 July, brought 111.4 thousand hryvnias in revenue to the municipal enterprise «Timeset». Based on the results of the quarter and after all mandatory payments, the money will be transferred to the city budget.
This became known from the official response of the utility company «Timeset» to the information request NikVesti.
Currently, there are 175 equipped parking spaces in the city, 21 of which are free for people with limited mobility.
According to the official data provided in response to the request, as of 19 August, «Timeset» has already received 111,440 hryvnias from parking, of which 43,400 hryvnias were spent on maintenance of the sites (cleaning, marking, installation of signs and information stands). Separately, the company paid 20,592 hryvnias for software maintenance and 828 hryvnias in fees to EasyPay (3% of each transaction). If all the mandatory payments are deducted, the budget of Mykolaiv should receive approximately 47 thousand hryvnias.
On Tuesday, 26 August, at a meeting of the budget committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, Vitalii Kolpashchikov, director of the utility company «Timeset», reported that in July the company received 83,920 hryvnias.
Commission member Andrii Yantar called it «a drop in the bucket».
«83 thousand, let it be even 100 thousand. That is a drop in the bucket for the budget. Moreover, nothing will go to the budget», said Andrii Yantar.
To which Vitalii Kolpashchikov noted that in August they «worked fruitfully», explained to people, installed QR codes, and the situation should change.
«We worked with the Transport Department. We explained to people, installed the app. Now you can pay both through the app and through a QR code. Previously, there were many complaints that it was not possible to pay directly through the QR code», explained Vitalii Kolpashchikov.
During the meeting of the budget commission, Fedir Panchenko, the chairman of the budget commission, deputy from the party «Proposal», estimated how much of the 83 thousand hryvnias earned would go to the city budget: «I calculated that we will send about 10 thousand hryvnias to the budget per month», he said.
Commission member Andrii Yantar also asked what percentage of the parking fees would go to help the military.
«We expected that part of the money from parking would go to the Armed Forces. But I see that there is no money. 83,000 hryvnias is a ridiculous amount of money compared to the inconvenience that is being created for the citizens», said the commission member.
Vitalii Kolpashchikov, director of the municipal enterprise «Timeset», replied that he was not solving this on his own and that all questions were addressed to the city council.
In his turn, Fedir Panchenko added that, according to the idea, everything that remains after the mandatory payments, «Timeset» should be transferred to the city council, and the city council will distribute the funds.
Earlier, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, suggested that the deputies wait for the results of the first month of operation of the parking areas, after which they can analyse the financial revenues and return to this issue at the next session.
As a reminder, Andrii Yantar, a member of Mykolaiv City Council, criticised the paid parking system in the city centre. He stated that it not only does not add comfort to residents, but also creates additional problems.
As you know, on 11 June, eight paid car parking locations were launched in the centre of Mykolaiv.
At the same time, the number of free parking spaces in the centre of Mykolaiv has decreased. The municipal specialised installation and maintenance company has installed bollards (protective posts) on the sidewalks and so-called «pockets», so drivers can no longer leave their cars there.
Earlier, NikVesti wrote about how they will work and who will control payment.
