69% of Ukrainians say they favour a negotiated end to the war as soon as possible.
This is according to a Gallup poll conducted from 1 to 14 July this year.
Only 24% of respondents believe that Ukraine should continue to fight until complete victory.
Gallup notes that these figures demonstrate a radical change in public opinion, as in 2022, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the situation was the opposite: 73% supported the idea of fighting to the bitter end, while only 22% supported negotiations.
Despite the growing number of supporters of the diplomatic path, most Ukrainians do not expect the hostilities to end soon. Only one in four believes that the active phase of the war could end within the next year, and only 5% believe that such a scenario is very likely. At the same time, 68% of respondents believe that the end of hostilities in 2025 is unlikely.
As a reminder, according to the latest KIIS poll, 76% of Ukrainians reject «the peace plan» on Russia's terms. They consider a joint peace plan between Europe and Ukraine to be the most acceptable.
