Tomorrow, 1 August, a differentiated air raid warning system will be launched in Mykolaiv region.

This was announced by Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Air Traffic Control Centre.

This is due to the need for business to stop working in case of possible threats.

The new system provides for three separate types of alerts:

  • a separate one for the city of Mykolaiv,
  • a separate alert for the entire region, except for the regional centre,
  • a general alert for the entire region, including Mykolaiv, as it was before.

The head of the region added that in the first days after the launch, the system will operate in test mode, so there may be inaccuracies or technical interruptions. As Vitalii Kim pointed out, the cost of these changes was not high.

«The equipment is old, and there may be malfunctions. Please take it easy,» said Vitalii Kim.

It should be noted that he announced these changes in the region regarding the introduction of a differentiated alarm system, which will allow the signal to be switched on in areas where there is a real threat, back in late June.
