Mykolaiv's chief landscaper says he does not declare housing because he has no property in the city

Dmytro Chuchmai, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks», did not indicate in his declaration the housing he rents.

In a live broadcast, answering a question about his property ownership in Mykolaiv, he noted that he had provided all relevant information in his declaration.

According to him, he does not own a home in Mykolaiv, but only rents.

«This is a big concern for the city's residents, so I want to explain it again. The property I own is listed in my annual declaration. I have no other property in Mykolaiv. I live in a rented apartment, for which I pay my own money», said Dmytro Chuchmai.

It is worth noting that in the declaration, Dmytro Chuchmai indicated his place of registration as Mariupol, Donetsk region, which has been under temporary occupation by Russia for three years. At the same time, the head of the utility company stated in the declaration that he actually lives in Mykolaiv, but in the section on real estate he did not indicate any apartment or house where he lives. The document contains information only about owning a share of an apartment and a house in Mariupol. However, officials are required to indicate not only the real estate owned by them or their family members, but also the address of their permanent or temporary residence.

How does ME «Mykolaiv Parks» work?

Funding for the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» has increased significantly over the past five years — from 8.6 million hryvnias in 2020 to 167.2 million hryvnias in 2023. This year's budget of the enterprise is 144 million hryvnias, which is slightly less than in the previous year.

At the same time, as of August 2024, the utility employs 262 staff members. This is a six-fold increase compared to 2021, when the figure was 39 people. However, the company needs about 400 more staff members, said director Dmytro Chuchmai.

Afterwards, the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» responded to this publication. They explained that on Soborna Street, workers were using a trimmer to rake leaves and mow grass if it was present.

«Mykolaiv parks» also plan to take out a loan of up to 43 million hryvnias to upgrade special equipment that will be used for winter and summer cleaning of the city. The total value of the company's vehicle fleet is estimated at 35 million hryvnias.
