Mykolaiv signed a twinning agreement with the municipality of Bari

Mykolaiv City Council has signed a twinning agreement with the municipality of Bari, Italy.

The agreement was signed during the International Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Rome on 11 July, NikVesti reports.

«We are officially starting cooperation with the Italian city of Bari. During the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, Mykolaiv signed a twinning agreement with the municipality of Bari. This partnership is not just about documents, but about mutual support, exchange of experience and projects that will help our communities develop», said Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

He noted that the city needs to be rebuilt, «we see potential in cooperation with Bari in various areas — education, culture, economic development, exchange of experience. And the main thing is that we feel interested not only on paper but also in actions».

«I thank my team for their systematic work, and special thanks to the Consul General of Ukraine in Naples, Maksym Kovalenko, for his assistance in establishing international relations! I am confident that this cooperation will bring real results to both parties», the mayor added.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv City Council has also signed a grant agreement with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) worth over €14 million.
