From January 2022 to December 2024, Ukrainian citizens opened about 77,700 private enterprises in Poland, which is 9% of all newly established sole proprietorships in the country.
This is reported by Polish Radio, citing data from Puls Biznesu.
The entrepreneurial activity of Ukrainians is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). After the outbreak of a full-scale war, the bank allocated €2 million to support displaced persons. In particular, the assistance is provided in the form of grants for consulting services for companies founded by Ukrainians outside Ukraine or those that already employ or plan to employ Ukrainians.
This year, 37,967 more sole proprietorships closed in Ukraine than opened. Last year, the situation was different: over the same period, on the contrary, 7,166 more were opened than closed.
