Produces parts for Shahed drones: General Staff confirms Russian plant hit

On the night of 9 June, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with other units of the Defence Forces, hit a facility of the Russian military-industrial complex — the enterprise «VNIIR-Progress». It is located more than a thousand kilometres from the Ukrainian border and produces parts for attack drones «Shahed».

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least two Ukrainian drones hit the target, causing a large-scale fire to break out at the enterprise. The final results of the strike are still being clarified.

«VNIIR-Progress» specialises in navigation equipment, in particular in the manufacture of adaptive antennas «Kometa», used in attack UAVs «Shahed», in planning and correction modules for air bombs and other precision weapons.

The General Staff stressed that these strikes are part of a campaign to reduce Russia's capabilities in the production of air attack weapons and will continue until the aggression is stopped.
