The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a large-scale special operation in Russia — a drone strike on four military airfields. The attack damaged 41 enemy aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 strategic bombers.

This was reported by the head of the SSU Vasyl Maliuk.

According to him, this task was set by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and he personally monitored its implementation.

The operation was called «Pavutyna» and had been in preparation for over a year and a half. During this time, Ukrainian special services delivered drones to Russia and hid them in mobile wooden houses. At the right moment, the roofs of the houses were remotely opened, and the drones simultaneously attacked targets at four airfields: «Belaia», «Diahileve», «Olenia» and «Ivanovo».

«In total, 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main Russian airfields were hit. It was not just a devastating blow to enemy aircraft, but a serious slap in the face to the power and terrorist nature of the Russian Federation», emphasises Vasyl Maliuk.

Vasyl Maliuk stressed that the SSU's goal is to destroy only military targets, and such strikes will continue as long as Russia attacks Ukrainian cities.

Special operation «Pavutyna»

As a reminder, the special operation «Pavutyna», which resulted in the SSU downing 41 Russian strategic aircraft, had been in the works for over a year and a half.

Later, journalist Yurii Butusov disclosed the details of the SSU operation, noting that the agents had entered the territory of the Russian Federation.

The SBU estimates the value of the destroyed Russian strategic aircraft at Russian airfields at seven billion dollars.

After the large-scale SSU attack on Russian airfields, the first satellite images of the long-range aviation base «Belaia» in Irkutsk region were published online. The images show significant damage and destruction of Russian warplanes.
