Another 205 Ukrainian defenders return home from Russian captivity

On Tuesday, 6 May, Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners. 205 Ukrainian soldiers returned home.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, the men are from almost all types and branches of the armed forces. Defenders of Mariupol and defenders of the entire front line.

«They were scattered across many Russian regions, imprisoned by the prison system with a single task: to abuse and destroy humanity. We have brought them back. And I thank everyone who worked on this exchange. I thank our partners, especially the United Arab Emirates, for their mediation and assistance. I thank those who are not indifferent and continue to talk about Ukrainians in captivity», the President added.

As a reminder, another prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia took place on 19 April. 277 Ukrainian defenders returned home, including members of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Special Transport Service and border guards. They defended Mariupol, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions.
