«Funds are not enough»: management company in Mykolaiv explains why it does not repair emergency entrances

In Mykolaiv, residents of houses on Kosmonavtiv Street complained about the emergency condition of their entrances, which were damaged by Russian shelling two years ago. In response, the management company «City for People. Mykolaiv» replied that there was no money for repairs and pointed to the debt of the residents themselves.

In a letter to the editor of NikVesti, the company explained that it had asked the city's housing and communal services department to help repair the broken windows in buildings 69, 71 and 73a. As for the repairs to the entrances, the company complains about the lack of funds.

«Due to the increase in the cost of electricity from 1.68 to 4.32 hryvnias and the low level of payment for the utility service, there is currently not enough money for scheduled repairs. However, the company offers to revise the cost of the management service and sign an individual contract — this will allow us to accumulate the necessary amount faster and carry out the repair work», the statement said.

At the same time, «City for People» emphasises the significant debt of residents. In particular, according to the company, residents of the house №69 on Kosmonavtiv Street owe more than 47 thousand hryvnias.

The company claims that after the shelling, it repaired the roof of the building at its own expense and by its employees, and plans to replace the water supply system together with «Mykolaivvodokanal».

«After the shelling, the roof was repaired — the funds were provided by the management company, and all the work was done by its employees. There is a problem with the water supply in the building — the system inlet needs to be replaced. These works have already been planned and depend on «Mykolaivvodokanal», which, together with the management company's employees, should carry them out», the company said.

The company also reported that the residents of house №71 have a debt of more than 156,500 hryvnias. Despite this, according to the company, after the shelling, the roof and cold water supply system were overhauled.
