Odesa schoolchildren to study physics at university: mayor's office reports on signing memorandum

Starting from the next academic year, Odesa schoolchildren will be able to study physics and other natural sciences at the Institute of Physics of the Odesa Mechnykov National University.

This was announced by Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

The city authorities reported on the signing of a memorandum with the rector of the university, Viacheslav Truba. According to the agreement, university teachers will be involved in working with schoolchildren.

«It was agreed that university teachers would work with schoolchildren, both as part of pre-professional training and specialised education. When we talk about high school reform, we need to think not only about equipping classrooms, but also about finding strong teachers. Schools lack physicists, while the university has specialists, laboratories, and a desire to work with talented young people,» said the mayor.

As a reminder, students of the National University «Odesa Law Academy» did not allow representatives of the Ministry of Education and the rector of the Mechnykov Odesa National University, Viacheslav Truba, to enter the building.
