The Ministry of Defence will be responsible for fortifications in the frontline areas

Ukraine is updating the mechanism for acceptance, accounting and maintenance of fortifications in the frontline areas. Within a month, the defences built in 2024 will be transferred to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defence.

The relevant resolution was adopted at a government meeting on 21 January.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, last year Ukraine equipped three thousand defence posts.

«Last year, 3,000 defence points were equipped both in threatened areas and in places where active hostilities are not currently taking place. For this purpose, the state has allocated 46.2 billion hryvnias, which was sent to the RMA and the Recovery Agency», the Prime Minister said.

Earlier it was reported that funds were reallocated from the budget of Mykolaiv region for the construction of fortifications in Zaporizhzhia.
