Trump says Zelenskyy has only one trump card — himself

Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has only one «trump card» in the Ukrainian-Russian war — Donald Trump himself, without whose support the situation for Ukraine would be «a complete disaster».

The US president made this statement in an interview with The New York Times.

The American leader claims that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy «had no cards» and, according to him, still has none.

«He has no cards. He had no cards from day one,» Donald Trump said.

He said that if the Ukrainian president did not have Donald Trump, the situation for the country could be catastrophic.

«If he didn't have Donald Trump, it would be a complete disaster, and he knows it, and European leaders know it, and everyone knows it,» the US president said.

Recall that Donald Trump previously stated that the US could participate in security guarantees for Ukraine.
