The Mykolaiv Regional Blood Transfusion Station is now the only one in the city that has a licence to procure blood components: the regional council deputies supported the relevant decision.
This became known today, 20 November, at the thirty-second extraordinary session of the regional council of the eighth convocation, NikVesti reports.
The head of the healthcare department of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Iryna Tkachenko, said that only the regional transfusion station is now responsible for the procurement of blood components, and hospitals no longer have the right to do so.
«The Cabinet of Ministers issued Resolution №254 of 7 March 2025 and Order №763 of the Ministry of Health, which completely changes the process of procuring blood components for our medical institutions and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now, according to these regulations, the only company that has the right to procure blood components under a licence is our blood transfusion station. This law prohibits the procurement of blood components in the structural units that were previously part of our medical institutions,» she explained.
In his turn, Anton Tabunschyk, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, explained that the new NACE 86.90 is needed to enable the station to officially establish and operate as a blood bank in accordance with the law.
Thus, the deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council agreed to amend the register, which allows the regional blood transfusion station to officially operate under the new NACE 86.90 — «44 councillors voted for», two did not participate in the voting.
For the blood transfusion station, we added NACE 86.90 — «Other healthcare activities». This allows the station to officially function as a blood bank and to procure blood components, which does not fall under other specialised medical activities.
As a reminder, on 20 November, the Mykolaiv Regional Council unanimously supported the project of the first stage of reconstruction of the regional children's clinical hospital, under which the Ministry of Health will be responsible for selecting the contractor and monitoring the construction.
