Oleksandr Bereza, head of the administration of the Central District of Mykolaiv and a city council member from the party «Proposal», has proposed to reset the composition of deputy commissions.

He said this during a session of the Mykolaiv City Council on 30 October, according to NikVesti.

«Today it has become obvious that there are certain comments and dissatisfaction among us with this or that deputy commission. Given that at the session before last we talked about the great effectiveness of rotational principles, it may make sense to look at the work of parliamentary commissions and re-elect their members and re-approve them. In this way, the work of parliamentary commissions could be rebooted. Perhaps this would also add efficiency to our work,» said Oleksandr Bereza.

As a reminder, on 30 October 2025, for the first time since the start of the full-scale war, the city council partially met for an offline session. The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, offered the deputies a hybrid format of work, like their colleagues in Dnipro.

At the session, deputies raised the issue of the effectiveness of deputy commissions.

Yevhen Prudnyk, a city council member elected from the party «OPFL», criticised the work of the Standing Committee on Housing and Communal Services. According to him, instead of considering issues important for the city, the commission members focus on secondary issues, in particular, on writing off municipal property.

At the same time, the head of Mykolaiv's anti-corruption department and a deputy from the «Propozytsiya» party, Andrii Yermolaiev, criticised the work of the head of the deputy ethics commission, Olena Kiseliova.

After that, Olena Kiseliova, a city council member from «European Solidarity» and head of the Commission on Legality and Transparency, responded to Andrii Yermolaiev's accusations of her inaction.

Back in August 2025, city council member Artem Illiuk came up with an initiative to rotate the heads of the city's district administrations. He believes that this approach could improve their performance.
