Russia has refused to hold bilateral talks with Ukraine, as well as trilateral talks with US President Donald Trump.

This was stated by US Vice President J.D. Vance, according to NikVesti with reference to «RBC-Ukraine».

According to him, the situation at the front has changed dramatically: the Russian army is suffering heavy losses and at the same time cannot boast of significant results.

«Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, we have seen that the Russians have refused to hold any bilateral meetings with Ukrainians. They have also refused to hold trilateral talks where the President or another representative of the administration could meet with Ukrainians and Russians,» said J.D. Vance.

The Vice President stressed that Washington has been seeking peace from the very beginning of the Trump administration, but Moscow must «wake up and recognise the reality».

«Many people are dying. Russia has nothing to be proud of. How much more are they willing to lose? How many more people are they willing to kill for a very small, if any, military advantage? I hope the answer is not many,» he said.

He added that the United States will continue to work towards peace and expects Russia to change its position.

Earlier, Lavrov announced an agreement with Rubio on new consultations between Russia and the United States.
