Zelenskyy says he is ready to resign from the presidency after the war ends

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he does not intend to remain the head of state in peacetime and plans to ask the parliament to organise elections after the ceasefire.
He said this in an interview with the American publication Axios.
Asked whether he would consider his work completed after the war ends, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was ready to resign.
«My goal is to end the war, not to continue running for the post of», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that the security situation and the requirements of the Constitution pose certain challenges, but he believes that elections are possible.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he would be «satisfied» if the elections in Ukraine had already been held.
