President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he would be «satisfied» if the elections in Ukraine had already taken place.

He said this during a meeting with journalists, according to «Interfax-Ukraine».

«I would be satisfied if the elections were already held. To finish with this topic, because this topic gives nothing but bickering and political appeals, posters,» Zelensky said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that his main request to all those wishing to participate in the political process was to prevent the country from being split during the war.

«The main thing is that they give me the opportunity to end the war, and not split the state before that,» the president said.

As a reminder, the UK and Ukraine have signed a new memorandum of cooperation between the election commissions of the two countries. The agreement provides for support to Ukraine in preparing and holding the first elections after the end of the war with Russia.
