«Coalition of the willing» meets with Zelenskyy before meeting with Trump

The meeting «of the Coalition of the Willing» with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ended on the eve of his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

According to CNN and «Radio Liberty», the discussion lasted about 2.5 hours.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the coalition countries are united in their desire to continue supporting Ukraine. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski emphasised: «For peace to come, pressure must be put on the aggressor, not the victim».

According to the European Commission spokesperson, the participants of the meeting discussed ways to end the war, new sanctions against Russia, security guarantees for Ukraine and the principle that it is Kyiv that should decide on its territories.

The Coalition of the Willing is an association of European and non-European countries that have promised to help Ukraine fight the Russian aggressor. The coalition was announced by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on 2 March 2025.

Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the European Union would approve the 19th package of sanctions against Russia in September 2025.
