Zelenskyy: It is necessary to end the war, but Russia does not show readiness

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in recent days he had held more than 30 conversations and consultations with leaders of different countries.

He stressed that, despite different views, everyone has a common goal — to end the war, increase pressure on Russia and achieve a fair peace.

«Different parts of the world, different visions, but common positions. We need to end this war. We need to put pressure on Russia for the sake of an honest peace. We need to take the experience of Ukraine and our partners to prevent deception on the part of Russia,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

According to him, there are currently no signs that Russia is preparing to end its aggression. He is confident that the coordinated actions of Ukraine, the United States, European countries and other allies can force Moscow to end the war.

«There is no sign that the Russians are preparing to end the war. Our coordinated efforts and joint steps — of Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and all countries that want peace — can definitely force Russia to peace. I thank everyone who helps!» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the US state of Alaska on 15 August.

In addition, the White House is considering inviting President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Alaska, where the meeting is to take place.

President Zelenskyy has also said that a trilateral meeting between the leaders of the United States, Ukraine, and Russia is planned. However, no specific date has been set for the event.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that the planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is not a victory for the Kremlin. According to him, the meeting will be of an exploratory nature.

At the same time, the United States promised to hold consultations with European partners before meeting with Vladimir Putin.
