US President Donald Trump has announced a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the US state of Alaska on 15 August 2025.
This was announced by Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social.
«The long-awaited meeting between me, as President of the United States, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place next Friday, 15 August 2025, in the great state of Alaska. Further details will be announced in due course. Thank you for your attention to this issue!», Donald Trump wrote.
In addition, the Russian President's aide Yurii Ushakov confirmed the fact of the meeting in a comment to Russian media.
«Russia and the United States are close neighbours, so it is quite logical that the meeting between Putin and Trump will take place in Alaska,» Ushakov said.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin named the United Arab Emirates as one of the most suitable places to meet with Donald Trump.
As reported, Russian presidential aide Yurii Ushakov said that a meeting between Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump has already been agreed and could take place next week.
Earlier, the New York Times reported that Donald Trump, during a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said he intended to meet with Putin next week. Trump also suggested a possible trilateral meeting with Ukraine.
Later, at a briefing, the US president confirmed that he sees «good chances» for talks with Putin and Zelensky.
