The Kremlin said that it had read US President Donald Trump's statement on reducing the timeframe for resolving the war in Ukraine from 50 to 10-12 days. The Russian side also stressed that it intends to continue to protect its interests in the negotiation process.

This was reported by the Russian news agency «Interfax» with reference to Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitrii Peskov.

«We have taken note of President Trump's statements. A special military operation is underway, and we remain committed to the peace process to resolve the conflict over Ukraine and to ensure our interests in this settlement», Dmitrii Peskov said.

At the same time, the Kremlin avoided assessing Donald Trump's words about his unwillingness to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the situation in Ukraine. It is also noted that the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Trump is not currently being discussed in detail.

Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump is dissatisfied with the progress of peace talks to end the war in Ukraine. «He is losing patience, expecting the Russian side to do something», said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
