Ukrainian carriers will continue to be able to travel to EU countries without special permits. The European Parliament has supported the extension of the so-called «transport visa-free regime» until the end of 2025.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. According to him, the agreement has been extended for the fourth time.
In addition, the European Commission has approved Ukraine's accession to the EU's Roam like at Home policy. This means that starting from 2026, Ukrainians will be able to use mobile communications and the Internet in 27 EU countries without additional roaming costs.
«In addition, yesterday the European Commission approved Ukraine's accession to the EU's Roam like at Home policy. This means that Ukrainians will be able to avoid paying roaming charges for phone calls and mobile internet use in the 27 EU countries,» said Denys Shmyhal.
The final approval of this decision by the EU Council is now pending.
«This sets an important precedent — so far, no country outside the European Union has joined the Roam like at Home policy,» said Denys Shmyhal.
Earlier it was reported that the European Union decided not to extend the «trade visa-free regime» with Ukraine. Instead, temporary trade rules approved by the European Commission will be introduced on 6 June.
