US President Donald Trump left the «Group of Seven» summit in Canada earlier than planned, despite a planned meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This was reported by White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt on social media platform X.

According to her, the reason was the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

«President Trump had a great day at the G7 summit, even signing a trade agreement with the UK and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. But due to the events in the Middle East, he will be travelling to Washington tonight», said Caroline Leavitt.

Donald Trump himself also confirmed that he was forced to return to the US earlier:

«We're going to have dinner with these great leaders and then I'm flying out. I need to get back as soon as possible», he said.

Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy planned to hold a personal meeting during the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada.
