The European Union has already transferred about two-thirds of the planned 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga after a meeting with the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas.

«The EU member states have already allocated two-thirds of the 2 million artillery shells, and we are working to provide the rest as soon as possible. I thank Kaja for her important initiative», he wrote on social media.

Sybiga also stressed the importance of taking decisive steps to deter Russia and accelerate Ukraine's European integration. According to him, the parties agreed to jointly promote both directions.

It should also be recalled that the European Union has approved the 17th package of sanctions against Russia. The main focus is on the Russian shadow fleet and the profits of the Russian energy sector. In addition, the EU is already preparing for the 18th package of anti-Russian sanctions

The European Union will also allocate an additional €900 million from the proceeds of Russia's frozen assets to purchase arms and ammunition for Ukraine, bringing the total recent support for Ukraine's defence industry to €3.3 billion.
