Since taking office in 2019, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made 134 visits abroad.

In 2023 alone, there were 48 such trips, the British newspaper Times reports, citing the Presidential Office.

The head of state most often visited Germany, France, the United States, Poland, and Belgium. In 2024, he has already visited 18 countries, making 23 visits.

Oleksandr Merezhko, chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy, said in a commentary to the publication that these trips help the president to recover psychologically. At the same time, he said, despite the preservation of energy, Zelenskyy has a touch of sadness that was not there before.

On 18 May, the president and First Lady Olena Zelenska attended the inaugural mass of the new Pope Leo XIV, after which he had an audience with the pontiff. On the same day, Zelenskyy met with US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, their first face-to-face conversation since the conflict at the White House in February.
