US President Donald Trump has said that he has no information yet on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the talks in Istanbul on 15 May. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of his own participation in this event.

The American president told journalists about this, Sky News and the BBC reported.

Donald Trump noted that he did not know whether Vladimir Putin would be present, «if I was not there». He also said that Putin would probably like to see him at the talks.

«I know he would like me to be there, and it is possible. If we could end the war, I would think about it,» he added.

It should be noted that the Kremlin is still not ready to name the composition of the Russian delegation, but confirms that its representatives will be waiting for the Ukrainian side in Istanbul.

According to the Washington Post, Russia may be represented at the talks by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential Adviser on International Affairs Yurii Ushakov.

Earlier, however, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that he was looking forward to direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey.
