Former US President Joe Biden has criticised Donald Trump's position on the war in Ukraine, calling it a modern form of appeasement policy.

In an interview with the BBC, he expressed concern that such rhetoric could encourage other European countries to make concessions to Russia.

Joker Biden noted that Donald Trump had suggested that Ukraine consider ceding part of its territory to end the war, which, in his opinion, sends the wrong signal to the aggressor.

The politician also stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin perceives Ukraine as part of «mother Russia» and cannot accept the collapse of the USSR. Biden called those who think that Putin will stop on his own naive.

At the same time, he responded to accusations that the United States provided Ukraine with only as much assistance as was necessary to contain, but not to defeat, the Russian aggressor. Biden explained this by the need to avoid a direct clash between the nuclear powers.

«What will Putin do if the situation becomes really difficult for him? He will threaten to use tactical nuclear weapons. This is not a game or roulette,» the former president concluded.

Earlier, Joe Biden expressed concern about the scale of the negative changes that have occurred in less than a hundred days of the new administration, noting that the speed with which the damage has been done is impressive.
