Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has effectively abandoned the idea of a 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine.
He stated this during a briefing, as quoted by the Russian news agency «RIA Novosti».
According to Dmitrii Peskov, a ceasefire is impossible without first resolving «all the nuances».
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman complained that Ukraine had allegedly not responded to Russia's initiative to hold a temporary ceasefire until 9 May.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded: «Why wait until 8 May? If the fire can be stopped now and from any date for 30 days, it means that it is realistic, not just for the parade».
It should also be recalled that on 20 April, Russian troops violated the ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the eve of Easter more than two thousand times.
At the time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented that this demonstrated Vladimir Putin's true attitude to Easter and human life.
In addition, Dmitrii Peskov recently said that Russia expects Ukraine to signal its readiness for direct talks. According to him, Moscow currently sees no steps in this direction from Kyiv.
