Media outlets reveal 5 demands of Kyiv for a potential peace deal

The Telegraph has learned the details of Kyiv's demands for a potential peace deal, which consist of five points and differ from the US plan.

Among the key conditions is a categorical rejection of any international recognition of Russia's control over Crimea and other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The first and second points focus on formulating any peace agreement as one based on international law «rather than capitulation», with a special warning against a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

It also emphasises the importance of clear «security guarantees» as the price for any future peace agreement that includes «the transfer of territory» to Russia, even on a temporary basis.

The third point argues that Ukraine should be at the centre of the peace process.

The fourth paragraph serves as a warning to both the US and NATO that allowing Russia to control Crimea gives it the ability to threaten not only attacks on Ukraine but also on other allies, including Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria.

The fifth and final clause clearly states that Russia should not be allowed to use the agreement to limit the size of Ukraine's armed forces or defence industrial base.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump presented «the final proposal» for a peaceful settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine. Axios stated that it includes a freeze on the frontline and security guarantees for Ukraine.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump commented on Volodymyr Zelenskyy' s statement, in which the Ukrainian leader stressed that Ukraine would never legally recognise the annexation of Crimea.

As reported, the Financial Times, citing three informed sources, wrote that Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready to back down from his previous demands for control over four Ukrainian regions, including Kherson.
