Zelenskyy says Trump's representative will arrive on 20 February and go with him to the frontline

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, will visit Kyiv on 20 February.

He made the announcement during an online press conference, according to «Interfax-Ukraine».

«We are waiting for Kellogg. We had an agreement that he would come to us on the 20th, for two days and maybe more, I want to go with him to the front and he will go with me to the front, I think he will not refuse», the president said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he wanted Keith Kellogg to personally visit the frontline, talk to the Ukrainian military and study all the issues.

According to him, together with Kellogg, they will meet with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and the commanders of several brigades. In addition, he suggested that Trump's representative could hold meetings with Ukrainian intelligence officers and representatives of the Ministry of Defence.

He is convinced that it is important to convey to the US the real situation in Ukraine and the importance of security guarantees.

«I think that after he returns to the US, we will know when my meeting with President Trump will take place», he said.

As a reminder, Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump's assistant and special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, does not rule out that Vladimir Putin will have to make territorial concessions to end the war.

Peace talks

Earlier, Donald Trump stated that the United States was conducting constructive negotiations on a full-scale war with Ukraine and the Russian Federation. In particular, he expressed hope that agreements would be reached as soon as possible.

He also claimed that Washington had already made some progress in negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

In addition, Donald Trump indicated that his administration had already held discussions with Moscow, but did not specify who participated in such a dialogue. Also, during his phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump never said that Europe needs a seat at the table in negotiations on Ukraine.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that negotiations between the United States and Russia to end the war without Kyiv's participation pose a threat to everyone.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that he was ready to sit down with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin for the sake of peace, despite his hostile attitude. He also added that he did not see a ready-made peace plan from Trump, but conveyed his readiness to negotiate.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was ready to «allocate people» to negotiate with Ukraine to end the war. At the same time, he called any such talks «illegitimate».
