Germany has decided to provide Ukraine with 60 additional missiles for the IRIS-T air defence system from the Bundeswehr's stockpile worth about 60 million euros.
This was reported by the Deutscher BundeswehrVerband.
As noted, this decision was the result of negotiations between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
According to the German minister, the transfer of additional missiles is planned in the short term, and the ammunition will be taken from the Bundeswehr's stockpile.
He also stressed that the decision to supply the missiles was made without specifying further funding due to Ukraine's urgent need for military support.
Earlier, Germany provided Ukraine with IRIS-T SLS short-range air defence missile systems and ammunition.
