A festive trolleybus with a nativity scene and carols ran through Mykolaiv on Christmas Day

On 25 December, a festive event called «Light of Christmas» took place in Mykolaiv. Starting at 12 o'clock, a festive trolleybus ran around the city, performing traditional Christmas carols at bus stops.

The military band of the 406th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Lieutenant General Oleksiy Almazov of the Ukrainian Navy and students of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Culture and Arts performed ritual songs to congratulate the townspeople on the holiday. The nativity scene dressed in bright Ukrainian costumes sang and danced for the citizens of Mykolaiv who gathered to watch the festive performance. Thus, Malanka swept everyone with a broom to ensure that «the house was prosperous», the carolers drove a goat and wished everyone good, light and — most importantly — peace throughout Ukraine.

According to Yurii Smetana, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelectrotrans», this festive trolleybus has been running in the city for the second year in a row to give Mykolaiv residents positive emotions and bright impressions even in times of war.

The event was also attended by First Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv Vitalii Lukov. On behalf of the city council, he thanked the carolers and presented gifts.

Earlier, festive services on the occasion of the Nativity of Christ were held in Mykolaiv. The services were held, in particular, at the Cathedral of the Kasperovska Icon of the Mother of God and the Church of St. Joseph.
