Mykolaiv authorities want to purchase two premises to serve as premises for the Academy of Children’s Creativity: a working group has been set up for this purpose

A working group has been set up in Mykolaiv to determine whether the city can purchase two non-residential premises to convert into a shelter for the «Academy of Children’s Creativity» lyceum.

The relevant order was signed on 22 July by the mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych, according to NikVesti.

The premises in question are located at 40/1 and 40/2 Parkova Street. They are being considered as the simplest possible shelter for the lyceum’s pupils, teachers and support staff during air raid alerts.

No final decision on the purchase has yet been made. First, a working group must verify the property documents, its technical condition and value, and compare the proposed price with the current situation on the Mykolaiv property market.

The owner of the premises must provide an independent valuation, technical documentation, information from the register of property rights and documents relating to the land plot — if the property is a detached building. The building must also be inspected by specialists from the city’s capital construction department.

Following the inspection, the working group will submit its findings to the mayor: whether it is advisable for the city to purchase these particular premises and whether they can be used as a shelter.

The group is headed by the deputy mayor, Serhii Korenev. Its members also include representatives from the departments of education, municipal property, capital construction, the legal department, internal financial control and civil protection. Among the group’s members are the headteacher of the lyceum, Hanna Matveieva, and city councillor Olena Kiseliova.

The working group’s decisions will be of an advisory nature. The cost of the premises and the possible timeframe for their acquisition have not been specified.

As a reminder, construction of a new shelter is underway on the grounds of Lyceum №61 in Mykolaiv. It is planned to be completed by the end of 2026, Oleksii Savchuk, head of the City Council’s Capital Construction Department, told NikVesti. Some of the earthworks and concrete works have already been completed at the site.
