The Regional Reconstruction Service has rejected the Mykolaiv City Council’s request to repair the road to Matviivka

Mykolaiv City Council will approach the Regional Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service with a request to repair the road at the entrance to the Matviivka neighbourhood, which is in a state of disrepair. Previously, the regional restoration service had refused the city’s request in response to a verbal enquiry.

This was stated by the mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych, during a staff meeting today, 6 July, according to NikVesti.

According to him, residents of Matviivka regularly complain about the condition of the road, but it falls under the responsibility of the Restoration Service, not the city.

«Residents of Matviivka constantly complain that the district administration and the mayor are not doing their job properly, and that the road there is already in a poor state. They are unaware that responsibility for this road lies with the Mykolaiv Regional Road Maintenance Service. We need to raise this issue, because the response to our verbal enquiry is simple: there is no money.

Therefore, Mykolaiv City Council will approach the regional Reconstruction Service regarding the repair of this road, which runs through the whole of Matviivka,» said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

As a reminder, the entrance to the Matviivka neighbourhood is in a state of disrepair. Deep potholes and a ruined road surface have formed a continuous obstacle course here since winter, yet no repairs have yet been carried out on this section.
