The municipal enterprise «ELU Avtodorig» has announced a tender to repair potholes and other damage to the asphalt concrete surface in Mykolaiv. Over 3 million hryvnias are set to be allocated for the work.

This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro public procurement system, NikVesti reports.

The work involves repairing the road surface using the pneumatic jet method — a technology typically used for the rapid repair of potholes without the need for major roadworks.

According to the technical specifications, the contractor is to repair potholes and other damage to the asphalt concrete surface on various sections of city roads. The work will be carried out on carriageways with heavy traffic — over 150 vehicles per day.

The documentation provides for repairs to varying depths depending on the condition of the road surface. The total scope of work covers over 3,200 square metres of road surface.

The contractor must complete the repairs by 25 December 2026.

Tender submissions are currently being accepted. Participants may submit their bids until 3 June, after which the company will begin reviewing the proposals and selecting the contractor.

It is worth noting that, as of May 2026, over 8,500 square metres of potholes in Mykolaiv had been repaired.

What is the situation with road repairs in Mykolaiv?

Following this year’s winter, deep potholes have appeared on Mykolaiv’s roads due to the effects of freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing agents used on the asphalt surface.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that the city budget currently lacks funds for routine and major road repairs. He noted that the budget allocates just 20 million hryvnias exclusively for patching potholes for the entire year.

Meanwhile, in a comment to NikVesti, Vitalii Shevchenko, director of the municipal enterprise «ELU Avtodorig», said that there would be no large-scale pothole repairs on Mykolaiv’s roads for about another month due to unstable weather conditions and the dampness of the road sub-base.

In early March, municipal workers began patching potholes on Tsentralnyi Avenue.

And the Mykolaiv budget has allocated 14 million hryvnias for emergency and pothole repairs on the roads.
