In Mykolaiv, there are plans to dismantle three more temporary structures and a bus stop complex in various parts of the city.
The relevant draft decisions have been published on the city council’s website, NikVesti reports.
In the Central District, there are plans to dismantle a retail kiosk within a shopping complex on the corner of Zakhysnykiv Mykolaieva Street and Tsentralnyi Avenue, heading towards the yacht club.
A bus stop complex is also planned to be dismantled in the same area.
In the Zavodskyi district, there are plans to remove a retail pavilion with a covered summer terrace on Lazurna Street near building №18-b.
Another temporary structure is to be dismantled in the Inhulskyi district — on Bohoiavlenskyi Avenue near building №26-a.
The structures are to be dismantled by 31 December 2026.
As a reminder, Mykolaiv’s chief architect, Yevhen Poliakov, said at the last briefing that over the next two years the city plans to reduce the number of billboards and other advertising structures.
Construction of kiosks on Kosmonavtiv Street
In September 2024, plane trees were felled on the avenue along Kosmonavtiv Street in Mykolaiv to make way for the construction of a retail pavilion. Despite the arrival of the police and the environmental inspectorate, the felling of trees continued without any permits.
Construction was subsequently suspended, but the builders had already poured the foundations, connected the utilities and erected a metal frame covered in plastic sheeting. They also installed six separate entrances, presumably intended to accommodate several shops. One tree remains inside the structure, but its branches have already been completely cut back.
Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that the Department of Housing and Communal Services had not issued any permits for the felling of trees on Kosmonavtiv Street.
In turn, Alla Riazhskykh, a regional council member from the European Solidarity party who heads the regional commission on environmental issues, criticised the city authorities for their inaction regarding the mass destruction of trees in the city.
As of early May 2025, the entrepreneur had independently dismantled the retail pavilion at 142 Kosmonavtiv Street.
