During the week of 2-8 March, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with nearly 1,750 strike drones, as well as missiles and guided aerial bombs. Civilian infrastructure was targeted.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, during this period, Russia launched nearly 1,750 attack drones, 1,530 guided aerial bombs and 39 missiles at Ukraine. The attacks damaged energy facilities and residential buildings.
The president noted that air defence forces are able to neutralise most air targets, but Ukraine needs more means of protection.
«First and foremost, these are missiles for air defence. Therefore, contributions and supplies under the PURL programme are crucial. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. We must continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia and its accomplices,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He also added that negotiations with European partners on further strengthening defence support for Ukraine are planned for 8 March.
On 6 March, Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv and the surrounding region with Shahed 131/136 drones. As a result of the strike on the city, three men aged 19, 23 and 42 were injured. The 19-year-old and 42-year-old victims were hospitalised, while the 23-year-old received medical assistance on the spot.
In addition, on 7 March, Russian troops launched a ballistic strike on a building in Kharkiv. Seven people were killed in the attack, including two children, and at least ten others were injured.
