One crew member, a Syrian citizen, was injured as a result of a Russian drone attack on a civilian vessel in the Black Sea. He was given medical assistance.

This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kipper, during a live broadcast of the telethon Unified News, according to NikVesti.

As is known, on the evening of 4 March, in the Black Sea, a Russian drone hit a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag, which was leaving the port of Chornomorsk.

«The enemy is attacking Odesa around the clock and shows no signs of stopping. Yesterday, there was both a drone and a missile attack. Transport infrastructure was damaged, as well as a ship that was leaving one of our ports. We see that the enemy continues to stop at nothing, trying by any means to strike at our economy, at its key components, in order to create an imbalance in the work of enterprises and, of course, to affect the lives of the population,» Oleh Kipper said.

According to him, one man, a Syrian citizen, was injured as a result of the attack.

«He is a Syrian citizen. There was one person on the ship who needed medical assistance. Our light boat was immediately sent to him, and the crew member who was injured in the drone attack was given medical assistance. After that, the captain decided to continue moving in the planned direction. The ship left the combat zone and sailed outside Ukraine's territory,» Oleh Kipper said.

The ship was transporting corn. As a result of the strike, there are casualties among the crew members. After the attack, measures were taken to provide assistance to the victims and evacuate people from the ship. Other details of the incident are currently being clarified.
