Among those released was a Mykolaiv resident who had been sentenced by the Russians to 30 years in prison. According to Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, 157 Ukrainian defenders were returned home during the last exchange, including 25 from the Mykolaiv region. It was also possible to free soldiers who had been sentenced to long prison terms in Russia.
In addition, he said that he had been working in the Kharkiv region the day before, where they discussed the issue of internally displaced persons and support programmes for veterans to participate in the country's recovery.
