There is an additional threat, so we need protection, — Kim on the bombing of Mykolaiv

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, said that the night attack on 5 November on Mykolaiv was carried out not only by Shahed attack drones, but also, presumably, by guided aerial bombs.

As he said live on «Suspilne», the type of munitions is currently being clarified by the military.

In addition, he said, this poses an additional threat, so increased protection is needed.

«We believe that these were guided aerial bombs, but the military is now establishing the types and details. So I think it was them. If I'm not mistaken, on 16 October, there was also a fire with guided aerial bombs. How does this affect us? It means that we have an additional threat and we need additional protection. I will talk, I will ask for it,» said Vitalii Kim.

He added that there were no casualties or significant damage:

«This is a really serious threat to the residents of the city. We were attacked twice tonight — first at around 2am with Shahed drones, and then at 5am with unknown aerial munitions. Fortunately, there were no casualties or significant damage. But over the past two weeks, the number of attacks has increased significantly.»

The day before, Russian troops attacked the territory of Mykolaiv region with FPV drones 14 times. Private houses and a power line were damaged.
