Over 30 thousand explosives defused in Mykolaiv region since the beginning of war

Mykolaiv region remains one of the most heavily mined areas of Ukraine.

According to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, pyrotechnics have seized and destroyed 30,112 pieces of explosive devices.

More than 12,000 hectares of territory have been cleared of mines using manual and mechanised teams. More than 14,000 pyrotechnics and identifiers were involved in the work.

Earlier, NikVesti told how deminers are clearing Mykolaiv region of explosive hazards. It should be noted that in the village of Stepova Dolyna, Mykolaiv region, the consequences of Russia's military aggression left dozens of destroyed houses and thousands of hectares of dangerous, mined areas.

Since 2024, technical survey and humanitarian demining specialists have been working on these lands — first a team from the British organisation The Mines Advisory Group, and in 2025 they were joined by specialists from the Belgian organisation APOPO, which uses specially trained dogs.
