Overnight attack on Kyiv: dozens of casualties, including two children

On the night of 28 August, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv. The strikes resulted in deaths and injuries. As of the morning, 13 people were killed, including two children, and more than 45 injured. Some of them are children and teenagers aged 7 to 17.
This was reported by the Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Explosions and destruction were recorded at at least 20 locations in Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi and Desnianskyi districts.
- In Darnytskyi district, at least 6 buildings were damaged, including high-rise buildings, a private house and a kindergarten.
- In Dniprovskyi district, a 25-storey building, an office building and dozens of cars were damaged.
- A private house was hit in Solomianskyi district.
- Several buildings were damaged in Shevchenkivskyi district, including an office building.
- A shopping centre in the capital was also hit.
Rescuers are working at the scene and search and rescue operations are underway. State Emergency Service aviation is involved in extinguishing the fires.
According to the KCMA, as of 08:30, the number of people injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 45.
As a reminder, the Russian army also attacked settlements in the Mykolaiv region several times. In one of the villages, houses were damaged.
