In June, specialists from the Kherson Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology recorded an excess of the permissible concentrations of harmful substances in the air.

This is stated in the post of the Kherson Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology.

Most of the exceedances concerned nitrogen dioxide — its content reached 3.91-6.46 times the norm. An increased level of nitrogen oxide was also recorded — by 1.22-2.54 times.

Although the amount of nitrogen dioxide decreased slightly compared to May, the level of phenol remained unchanged. In total, 28 cases of nitrogen dioxide exceedance and 2 cases of phenol exceedance were recorded in June.

According to hydrometeorologists, the air pollution is directly related to the hostilities in the region.

As a reminder, high levels of air pollution were recorded in Kyiv on 4 July. This was the result of large-scale fires caused by Russian missile attacks. People were advised not to go outside.

It should also be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the amount of damage to the air in Mykolaiv region has amounted to 457 billion hryvnias.
