On the night of 1 May, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Odesa and its suburbs, using missiles and drones. Civilian infrastructure, including densely populated areas of the city, came under fire.
According to «Yedyni Novyny», the first deputy head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Kharlov, 15 people were injured in the shelling. Six of them were hospitalised, two are in serious condition. Another nine are receiving outpatient care.
Among the damaged objects are six multi-storey buildings, 12 private households, a branch of the delivery service «Nova Poshta», as well as seven cars.
«Operational headquarters are working on the spot, appropriate tents have been set up, and people are being provided with all the necessary assistance, from legal support to temporary accommodation,» said Alexander Kharlov.
All the victims are currently staying with relatives or friends. Several houses have no gas or electricity supply, and the restoration work is ongoing.
Particular attention is being paid to two buildings that sustained serious damage. Three floors of a 16-storey building were destroyed — the apartments are to be repaired, but their technical condition is still being assessed by experts.
«Three floors of a 16-storey building were damaged, these apartments are to be repaired, and the relevant services and experts are currently working to assess the structure of this building. The three-storey building, which was also damaged and consisted of 18 apartments, is most likely beyond repair and must be demolished, so we will address the issue of resettlement and housing,» stated Aleksandr Kharlov.
As a reminder, on the night of 1 May, Odesa was attacked by Russian drones. As a result, two people were killed and five others were injured.
