«I decorate the facade, and the government destroys it»: entrepreneurs opposed the dismantling of signs in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, entrepreneurs disagree with the decision of the city authorities to dismantle advertising signs from the facades of their establishments.

Anna, the owner of an establishment at the intersection of Soborna and Nikolska streets, expressed her indignation at the situation, according to NikVesti.

«I wanted to tell you what our government is doing during the war, when rockets are flying over the city every night. They have decided that my facade is not the most beautiful in Mykolaiv,» the businesswoman said.

She drew attention to the dilapidated state of other buildings in the central part of Mykolaiv — peeling facades, abandoned premises, graffiti, branches hanging from power lines for years.

«Take a look at what these buildings look like. It's a broken city, and you make beauty for this city. I decorate the façade, clean it up, but for two years we have had a branch hanging from the electric wires — is it beautiful? Here is the restored facade, and our authorities come and destroy it all. In a frontline city, it is a crime to come and destroy someone else's property,» Anna is convinced.

According to her, she appealed to the chief architect of the city, Yevhen Poliakov, but to no avail, and the sign is going to be dismantled in the coming days.

It should be noted that today, 1 May, work has already begun on dismantling signs on other commercial properties in Mykolaiv. The police and representatives of the Ombudsman's office have arrived at the scene and are trying to resolve the conflict.
